We have finally said our last goodbyes (fingers crossed) to the snow and springtime has arrived! Channel some positive weather vibes by getting outside and going on one of these great hikes around Boston provided by BDC Wire:

1.Cutler Park: "Cutler Park is a 700-acre fresh water marsh on the Charles river. Located in Needham and Dedham, it is a maze of trails in the wetlands fed from The Charles and is also a major bird haven, so don’t forget your binoculars. 2. Blue Hills Reservation: "Blue Hills is a... wait for it... 7,000 acre reservation South of Boston with over 125 miles of trails that cover all hiking levels. Break those boots in with a weekend climb."

3. Rumney Marsh Reservation: "Rumney Marsh Reservation represents the north shore of Boston in the cities of Saugus and Revere with 600 acres of salt marshes and trails. "

4. Hammond Pond Reservation & Webster Conservation Area: "Hammond Pond Reservation is more like a two-for-one option in the Chestnut Hill area of Newton. Hammond Pond is large and scenic with its woodland surroundings, and is adjacent to trails and a bog in Webster Conservation Area. "

5. Middlesex Fellsway Reservation: "The Middlesex Fellsway is roughly 2,500 acres, located in Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Winchester, and is filled with trails for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing."

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the contents of the Massachusetts State House time capsule before it is reburied.

"The time capsule was found to contain coins, newspapers, a medal depicting George Washington, and a silver plaque believed to be engraved by Paul Revere. In this exhibition, the contents are displayed in front of the monumental Thomas Sully painting, The Passage of the Delaware (1819). The installation will explore the significance of the objects found in the capsule and the role of the prominent figures involved in both the original burial in 1795, and reburial in 1855. Surrounded by related works of art on view throughout the Wing, visitors can also see portraits of Samuel Adams and Paul Revere by John Singleton Copley, coins identical to those in the time capsule, and other historical objects in nearby galleries."

Five days of egg-hunting:"Keep your eyes peeled while strolling through the North End this week. Ten Easter eggs filled with prizes have been hidden throughout the Italian restaurant mecca. You have until Friday to find them. The 10 eggs contain gift cards to Pauli’s restaurant on Salem Street. However, the cards will only be honored until Saturday, so if you find one, be quick like a bunny and make reservations."

For ride seekers:"If your happy place is a carnival full of lights and rides and food and fun, we’ve got the perfect Easter week activity for you.Get in line for the Ferris wheel or roller coaster, grab some fried dough, spend time with the animals in the petting zoo, and try your hand at a carnival game. It’s all happening at the Revere Spring Carnival, which opened March 26 and runs daily through April 19."

For a zoo deal:"The early birds get the best deal at Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo every first Saturday of the month when adults are charged a children’s admission price (a $6 savings at Franklin and $4 savings at Stone). Arrive between 10 a.m. and noon to snag the deal.And if you head to the Stone Zoo Easter weekend, you’ll enjoy an Easter celebration to boot. The zoo will celebrate the holiday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Children will enjoy games, music, crafts by Michaels, and other fun surprises, as well as photos with the Easter bunny for a $5 suggested donation. The proceeds will benefit Stone Zoo."

For foodies:"Forget the traditional Easter ham, and go Guatemalan this Easter at BOKX 109.Executive Chef Israel Medina will cook roasted Pork shoulder tamales, an Easter tradition from his native Guatemala. The tamales are made with masa and fillings and are wrapped in leaves and steamed. They’ll be served with crunchy pickled green cabbage slaw."

Join the Easter fun at Faneuil Hall's 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday:

 "To celebrate the Easter holiday, Faneuil Hall Marketplace will host its 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Participants will gather in the Upper Rotunda at Quincy Market at 10:00am to pick up their clue sheet that includes riddles and hints leading to the merchants in possession of the eggs. Additionally, the clue sheet will also contain a coupon for 5 percent off of a purchase at any of the participating merchants for April 4. Most eggs will be filled with candy, however, there will be special eggs containing coupons valid for a free item at each shop. Plan ahead and reserve your free Easter Basket ahead of time by visiting"

Start your weekend off with a bang at the Institute of Contemporary Art. On the first Friday of each month, from 5pm-10pm, the ICA hosts an after hours event, themed around the current gallery exhibitions. First Fridays feature DJs, live performances, gallery talks, specialty cocktails, and more. The Water Cafe at the ICA offers a small bites menu and full bar - this is where you can find the cocktails inspired by the current exhibitions.

This, Friday, April 3rd is Footloose: "Professional dancers, a good DJ, infectious beats...JUST DANCE." 

Admission is completely free for members of the ICA and only $15 for nonmembers.
