The MFA will be celebrating the life of MLK on Monday,January 19th with a variety of programs and events.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will have events for the whole family!  Admission will be free and events will include Story Hour, art making activities, tours and much more!

"In tribute to Dr. King, who advocated activism through non-violence, the MFA invites members of the community to explore the Museum and embrace the notion of expression through art.

Since its inception in 1997, nearly 100,000 visitors have enjoyed MLK Jr. Day programming and exhibitions featuring several influential African American artists, such as prominent muralist John Biggers, Boston-based artist Allan Rohan Crite, and Civil Rights-era photographer Ernest Withers."

"This year’s show highlights whaling ships and boats. Exquisite ship models - and even some whales - will be on display along with maritime paintings by members of the American Society of Marine Artists.

There are a ton of events for guests to enjoy. In January, the events include St. Supery, Hall and Walt and Meritage Madness. The Boston Wine Festival will be held at the Boston Harbor Hotel by the Waterfront.

"The 2015 season of the Boston Wine Festival will kick-off with the Opening Reception on January 9th and feature an all-star lineup of intimate winemaker hosted dinners, seminars and receptions taking place through March 27th."

The 15th Anniversary Hot Stove Cool Music Boston Benefit Concert will be held at the Paradise Rock Club in Allston on Saturday, January 10th 

"Music and baseball will join forces as Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein and Hall of Fame baseball journalist Peter Gammons host the 15th anniversary of the Hot Stove Cool Music Boston charity concert to benefit the Foundation To Be Named Later. "The Lawn on D kicks off its winter season with Winter on D's inaugural event - Boston's first Fire & Ice Festival!

BCMFest hosts an annual weekend-long festival in January that features more than 100 performers."

This year's Boston's Celtic Music Festival will be held January 9th-11th in Cambridge.

The festival kicks off on Friday with a parade and concert at Club Passim in Harvard Square, and music and traditional dancing at the Atrium. 

Music continues throughout Saturday at several venues, ending in a rousing concert of music and dance on Saturday night."

There are sweets and sweets & pairing tickets available. Ticket prices vary depending on which option chosen.
