Bowtie bar crawlCheck out one sexy bar crawl! Ben L, Jables, Dan C, and Jason J Present: BowTieOneOn - Boston Bow Tie Bar Crawl. The Boston Bow Tie Bar Crawl starts at 5pm on April 6th at the W Hotel and makes its way to bars like The Tam, Scholars and Hong Kong.

'PRIZES! Special Yelp sponsored prize will go to a Yelper whose check-in is picked at random. To win, just check-in to the bars while on the crawl on your Yelp mobile app. The more you check-in, the more chances you have to win. Only one check-in each for the bars on the official crawl list will count, you scoundrels. Details of the specific prize to follow, but I promise it will be greed-inducing.

Improv Asylum"Improv Asylum's new mainstage show, The Last Twinkie, combines Improv Asylum's signature audience-inspired improvisation with written sketches to deliver a night of laughs.

The Last Twinkie takes aim at the staples of childhood, riffing on games like Mad Libs and Charades with the audience. Highlights of the written sketches include: a group of executives struggling to necessitate a failing movie studio with increasingly desperate ideas and the destruction of a teacher / student relationship as
they struggle with simple geography in a Fox News world."

Featured on HBO and named Boston's Best Comedy Club, Improv Asylum's Main Stage Show features a cast of actors who bring together improvisation and sketch material in front of a live audience.

Enjoy Boston's Duck Tour!

Posted by Hillary Waldron on Mon, Mar 25, 2013

duck tourCheck out the famous Boston Duck Tours!

"You'll board an amphibious, WWII-style landing vehicle, where you'll be greeted by a jovial conductor and tour narrator who'll share facts and crack lots of delightfully corny jokes along the way. Then, zoom by all of the spots that put Boston on the map, including the golden-domed State House, Bunker Hill, Boston Common, Quincy Market and more.

One of the most unique ways to visit historic Boston sites is to take your tour on both land and water. In Boston there are a couple companies that offer “Duck Tours,” and provide visitors a great way to see the city and hear a lot about its history from a very different vantage point. Both Boston Duck Tours and Super Duck Tours offer a tour of the city on their ducks, and they can each provide a fun and unique experience."

Beautiful Boston Bike Rides

Posted by Hillary Waldron on Sun, Mar 24, 2013

Cycling in the city is a great way to enjoy the nice weather, check out local attractions, and get some exercise. Below are a few suggestions on where you should go for your next adventure.

arboretumSouth End/ Jamaica Plain

"Making use of the Southwest Corridor and its paved bike paths, this route runs straight into the leafy Arnold Arboretum, where cyclists can enjoy the flora on miles of paths. From there, intrepid riders can go on to Franklin Park, or circle back toward the city along Jamaica Pond.

UMass Boston to Pleasure Baycastle island

This trip is about 3 miles one way. Though dedicated bike paths are not available along the entire route, cyclists can share the wide and double sidewalks with pedestrians and joggers. Feel free to stop at the JFK Library & Museum or (one of my favorite stops) Castle Island!

Esplanade

The Esplanade is already a favored running and cycling destination for many Bostonians. The wide path is three miles long and connects to the city via several footbridges. The Esplanade offers several recreational perks. Take a lap around and expierence what Boston and Cambridge has to offer! Near Science Park and right along the bike path, riders will find public basketball and tennis courts. If you're traveling with a particularly athletic bunch, you can pack gear and play during a break from biking."
