Let’s face it guys, when moving to a new area we kind of want to know what the [neighborhood](https://charlesgaterealty.com/boston-neighborhoods/) is like – demographics and census info, local jobs, local shops & restaurants, schools,  etc. Basically you want to know who’s who’s and what you can do around your new home.

Whether you’re looking at Boston [city-wide](https://charlesgaterealty.com/boston-neighborhoods/) or at a specific neighborhood like the [**Back Bay**](http://blog.charlesgaterealty.com/webinar-back-bay-market-dynamics) or [South End](https://charlesgaterealty.com/boston-neighborhoods/south-end/), there are a few excellent resources online for you to do your research:

- [City of Boston “My Neighborhood” Census Mapper](http://hubmaps.cityofboston.gov/myneighborhood/) – a very cool interactive map that lets you find census and demographic data down to individual block detail
- [Walkscore](http://www.walkscore.com/) – Enter any address and it will give you a walkability score as well as show you just about everything nearby from shops to schools
- [Great Schools](http://greatschools.org) – Comprehensive site that allows you to see school data in any town or neighborhood, from preschool to high school
