Find It First … How Competitive Has the Market Become in Boston?

Written by Michael DiMella | Apr 24, 2013 4:00:00 AM

This past week, a humorous campaign came out from the Realtor association highlighting how competitive the real estate market is across the US. You don’t have to look any further than the Boston market to see evidence of this – as one of the strongest in the country currently. As of the newest March stats, the amount of inventory is down 47.6% from last year across Boston. Wow – that means there are a little more than half of the homes on the market from only a year ago. And we don’t see this statistic changing any time soon.

How can you combat this competitive market and end up in the home of your dreams? There are a few things that make you a more savvy buyer:

1. Have A Buyer’s Agent On Your Side

Connect with a professional agent that spends every day finding the perfect properties for their clients. There is no cost to using an agent as a buyer and they work to help you through the entire process and get your the best deal. Plus, they know the tips and tricks to making your offer more competitive when you do find the right property.

2. Sign Up to Receive Off-Market Listings

We have been doing this over 12 years… and have many sellers who are on the fence or just have not listed their home yet. Each week, we compile these into an off-market report that we offer exclusively to our clients. These properties that are not on the open market are great opportunities to get in first. 3. Set up for E-alerts on Our Custom Search Site

We just launched an amazing new search site that allows users to set up e-alerts sent directly to their inbox based on criteria they set up. This means you will receive listings that YOU WANT when they hit the market – giving you first shot at them.
