Neighborhood Spotlight: West Roxbury

Written by Michael DiMella | Oct 19, 2013 4:00:00 AM

The West Roxbury market is an interesting one.  Situated between towns like Brookline, Roslindale, Newton, and Dedham, you find a much improved market compared to 2012.  In 2013 to date, West Roxbury has 152 single family homes that have closed sales, nearly an 8% jump from 2012.

Not only are homes selling in West Roxbury, they’re selling fast!  2013 brings an average of 45 days on the market for a single family versus 80 just a year ago, that’s a 44% drop in time on market!

As far as condominiums go, there have been 65 closed sales this year.  That’s compared to 44 a year ago, for a nearly 48% jump.  Days on market once again dropped, from 85 in 2012, to 71 in 2013.

The numbers are clear, there are more sales happening faster, and at higher asking price in the West Roxbury area, and we haven’t finished 2013 yet.

Want to jump in on the action?

We have a home for sale at 440 West Roxbury Parkway, a spacious four bedroom, three and two half bathroom single family listed for $775,000.  Not even one mile down the Parkway right over the Brookline city limits, there is a home, comparable in size, four bedroom, and two and a half bath (even a little smaller) going for $1,200,000.

More than a $400,000 difference, WOW!
