 Boston Magazine issued an article this May on the [Best Places to Live in six Boston metro-areas](http://www.bostonmagazine.com/articles/best_places_to_live_2010_city/), City, South Shore, North Shore, Inland South, and Metro West.

Brookline, [Jamaica Plain](http://blog.charlesgaterealty.com/boston-neighborhoods/jamaica-plain/), the Waterfront and [South End](http://blog.charlesgaterealty.com/boston-neighborhoods/south-end/) made it as the top three in the City.

**Brookline received the "Gold Standard"**  
*Median Home/Condo Price  
$1.17 Million/$451,000*  
One bedroom condo's in the high $200,000 to $20 millions. 15 minutes by T to Copley, with plenty to do in the neighborhood, aka as Coolidge Corner, which is "home to a stellar mix of indie commerce." And it has great public schools.

**Jamaica Plain received the "Best Value"**  
*Median Home/Condo Price  
$529,000/$316,650 *  
With J.P. having bidding wars at all prices, J.P. still offers a relative bargain. Why, you ask? Because all the wide open space. (Arnold Arboretum and Franklin Park). The restaurant scene is booming. The neighborhood offers a night out every first Thursday of the month with a band and art work.

**Waterfront and the South End received "Opportunity Knocks"**  
*Waterfront: $650,000  
South End: $520,000*

Both areas have a high demand and offer much to do to keep you busy and occupied.
