# Welcome to Roslindale, West Roxbury, and Hyde Park!

**Now part of the city of Boston, these neighborhoods were once referred to as “streetcar suburbs” for their main method of transportation.** Among the area’s points of interest: Roslindale’s Arnold Arboretum is a 265-acre park that links the neighborhood to nearby Jamaica Plain, continuing the city’s “Emerald Necklace” of green areas; the Roxbury Latin School, founded in 1645 in West Roxbury, is considered by some to be oldest school in continuous existence in North America; and Hyde Park boasts the George Wright Golf Course, designed by the legendary Donald Ross.
