The MBTA will start offering weekend boat service! The commuter boat service will be provided between Hingham, Hull, George's Island and Boston starting May 24th! 

"Each Saturday and Sunday, there will be 14 round trips between Hingham and Boston’s Long Wharf, with a number of boats making stops at Hull, Georges Island, and Logan Airport. The boats depart hourly from Hingham and Boston, beginning at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively.  

A one-way fare between Hingham or Hull and Long Wharf is $8. The fare for Logan service is $16, but only $8 for those with a valid monthly Commuter Boat pass."

This service will provide commuters with an alternative route of transportation and an opportunity to enjoy other beautiful areas outside of Boston during the summertime!

The Boston Brain Tumor Bike Ride will be held on Sunday, May 18th in Waltham.

"May is National Brain Tumor Awareness Month, calling attention to the need for greater public awareness about the disease and more funding for research to find a cure.

It's almost time for the Radio 92.9 Earthest at the Hatch Shell! 

The Earthfest concert is one of the largest free outdoor concerts in the nation.

"For two decades, Radio 92.9 has hosted EarthFest, a wildly popular all-day summer concert that’s not just well-curated and family-friendly, but also completely free and open to the public. "

Performances from this year's Earthfest include Neon Trees, The Wailers & Smallpools. There will also be a 'Kids Planet' Family Stage.

Crash Line Productions, in partnership with the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District and The Rose Kennedy Greenway, are co-hosting the 2014 Boston Calling Block Party series at Dewey Square! The series starts on Thursday, May 8th and runs til the end of September.

After five successful seasons of block parties on Summer Street in Downtown Crossing, the new location in Dewey Square will offer a more open layout, and more opportunities for attendees to spend time in the beautiful Rose Kennedy Greenway."

The Annual Ducking Day Parade will be held in the Public Garden on Sunday, May 11th.

"Every year, over 1,000 children and their families parade through Boston’s most picturesque parks, dressed like characters from the children’s classic Make Way for Ducklings. 

Prior to the parade there will be plenty of family entertainment including face painters, a magician, and a puppet show. Goodie bag for all registered children.

The new mayor of Boston, Martin J. Walsh will continue the tradition of welcoming the ducklings in attendance.  Plus – the Knucklebones team will bring their wonderful play equipment to encourage duckling frolicking… while massage therapists will be offering free mini-massages for moms to take a moment to relax."

The Kite and Bike Festival will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 11:00am-4:00pm in Franklin Park in Roxbury.

The festival is free and "a great way to spend time with the family, enjoy the arrival of spring, and go back to your childhood."

Kites will be available for sale during the festival if participates need to purchase one. Free bike rentals will also be available for those who are interested in taking a ride around the park. 

Food trucks will also be at the event with food and beverages.

The Fifth Annual 'Field of Dreams' Wiffle Ball Tournament and Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 10th at the Boston Athletic Club in South Boston. 

"Boston Police Superintendent Paul Fitzgerald organized 'The Field of Dreams' Wiffle Ball Tournament and Fundraiser five years ago after his nine year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. 

This exciting daylong event consists of a children’s tournament in the morning, and an adult tournament in the afternoon.  The event, which also includes food, music and a free t-shirt for all who participate, will have activities for kids to enjoy such as face painting, a fantastic petting zoo, Simon says and more!"

All proceeds will go to the Joslin Diabetes Center. 'The Field of Dreams' Fundraiser has already raised over $207,950.
