It's finally May and Cinco De Mayo is around the corner! The Bell in Hand will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo with some beverages and food on Saturday, May 3rd.

Registration at Bell in Hand starts at 12pm with the crawl beginning at 2:00pm. The crawl will be held around the Fanuiel Hall area. 

Tickets are available online here. Tickets include a t-shirt, entrance to each bar, specialty priced drinks, snacks and more! 

There will also be a "most interesting costume" contest.

Celebrate spring and enjoy the blooming lilacs at the Arnold Arboretum on May 11th in Jamaica Plain. 

"On May 11th we are welcome to celebrate the lilacs that give the Arboretum most of its stunning color. There will be activities, food vendors, and more to make this day one for the whole family.

Of the thousands of flowering plants in the Arboretum, only one, the lilac, is singled out each year for a daylong celebration. With more than 370 lilac plants of 176 kinds, the Arboretum holds one of the premier lilac collections in North America."

The 21st Annual "Taste of the North End" will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014. The "Taste of the North End" will be at the DCR's Steriti Memorial Rink. 

"With stunning views of Old Ironsides on one side and the Leonard Zakim Bridge on the other, Boston's most popular tasting event is back and will feature fabulous food from 40 popular North End restaurants and bakeries, as well as libations from area wine vendors. KISS-108 and NECN's TV Diner host Billy Costa will emcee the evening.

The evening benefits North End Waterfront Health, as well as local schools and recreation centers of the North End providing services to children and neighborhood senior programs."

One of Boston's biggest concerts, Boston Calling, has just announced their line up for their May & September events. 

On May 23-25th, Boston Calling will be held at City Hall Plaza in Boston. The line up for the May concert will include Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie and Modest Mouse. 

The National, Lorde, Nas with The Roots are just some of the artists that are planning on performing for Boston Calling in September. 

Guests for the events can get a one or three day pass, depending on their preference. Despite the weather last year, there were still thousands of concert goers who attended the event. Due to the line up this year, the tickets are selling out faster than ever so make sure you get yours today!

City Heart's Annual Art Show ill be held at the Prudential Center in Back Bay on Saturday, May 3rd from 11am-4pm.

"City Heart is an annual art show and sale in Boston, MA featuring ​local homeless and low-income artists. City Heart began in the spring of 2011 and is now in its third year. The show was founded because there was a wealth of wonderful art created by local homeless and low-income individuals but a lack of opportunity to share it with the community.

In 2011 and 2012, City Heart exhibited over 200 pieces of work from 40 artists. City Heart continues to grow. In 2013 the show will have 70 artists with over 1,000 pieces of beautiful artwork."

Artwork includes paintings, drawings and jewelery.

Lisa Lampanelli is coming to Boston on May 3rd to perform at the Wilbur Theatre in the Theatre District.

Known for her insulting and witty stand up, Lisa Lampanelli has made a name for herself as the 'lovable queen of mean'. 

Lisa has performed all over the country and "is a regular on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' and Howard Stern’s Sirius satellite radio shows. She has appeared on 'Late Show with David Letterman,' 'Chelsea Lately,' 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' 'The Dr. Oz Show' and 'Good Morning America.' She was also a member of the cast of NBC’s 'Celebrity Apprentice'".

Take part in the 15th Annual Charles River Earth Day Cleanup! The clean up will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 9:00am-12pm.

"Volunteers will be joining an effort of approximately 3,000 volunteers to pick up trash along the Charles River."

This event is organized by the Charles River Watershed Association and other nonprofits.

The fare proposal will increase an average of 4-5% and be effective as of July 1st, 2014. 

"The T’s fare hike proposal would also raise the monthly subway and bus pass from $70 to $75, and commuter rail monthly passes by up to $17, depending on the distance traveled."

The next scheduled MBTA Fare Proposal Meeting will be held today, Thursday, April 24th, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Roxbury Community College.

On April 26th, Boston area retailers will be donating part of their proceeds to The Esplanade Association and The Rose Kennedy Greenway in honor of Earth Day. Participating retailers will include Marathon Sports, City Table and Paramount Restaurant.

"For Earth Day, 2014, The Esplanade Association and the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy are joining together for the 2nd year to bring 5% for Earth Day to Boston. The campaign will ask Boston-area retailers to donate 5% of their gross proceeds on Saturday April 26th, 2014 to the two park friends organizations in order to support our work for Boston’s parks and open spaces."

The award winning Boston based artist, Keith MacLelland, is currently having a exhibition of his artwork at The South Rotunda Gallery in the Hynes Convention Center.
