Posted by Hillary Waldron on Sat, Aug 24, 2013

DJ ThrowdownCheck out the Cambridge vs Boston Hometown DJ Throwdown at The Sinclair in Harvard Square on Saturday, August 24th at 8:00pm.

"Please join Leland Cheung (Cambridge) and Tito Jackson (Boston) at the hottest venue in the Metro, The Sinclair, and enjoy the fight for bragging rights amongst 8 of Boston's hottest DJs. With our MC On and On as host, it's time to get down and dirty as these stars go toe-to-toe for the good of Youth on Fire (Cambridge) and Boston's Alliance of GLBT Youth.

Come see what we're fighting for. Research has shown that approximately 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBT; many of those youth are homeless because they were kicked out after coming out to their parents.

Youth on Fire and BAGLY are two great organizations helping those kids, but they need your help to continue their mission. All proceeds go to these two charities so come support your hometown!"

These Dead Sea scrolls include "literary writings of the times and the oldest known texts of the Bible, making their discovery perhaps the most significant archaeological find of the last century.

Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see fragments of the priceless scrolls (some never displayed in North America), along with one of the most comprehensive collection of antiquities from Israel ever organized. Highlights include a three-ton stone from Jerusalem’s Western Wall, limestone capitals from the first temple period (1000 – 586 BCE), ossuaries from the early Roman period, and an ancient signature preserved for millennia on the Archer Seal. Forum on Boylston Street is Open!

Posted by Hillary Waldron on Fri, Aug 16, 2013

Lforumast night, the last business affected by the Boston Marathon bombing reopened on Boylston Street. Forum, which was the site of one of the second explosion, held a private fundraiser to benefit the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. The event was a huge success for the foundation and showed the strength of Bostonians coming to support the restaurant.

The owner, Euz Azevedo, did a complete update of the space both upstairs and down. The ground floor has a sweeping bar that goes almost the entire length of the restaurant. The entire space is brighter and livelier which was the goal to help people erase negative memories. As Euz told the Boston Globe, "We made a decision to brighten the space," he said. “We wanted to erase those memories that people had. I just didn’t want to open with the same look because if you come back to a place where something bad happened to you, you’re going to have those memories again.”

In addition to the renovations, Chef Dan Schroeder invites guests to enjoy a brand new menu, focusing on fresh seafood and traditional favorites. The menu can be viewed on their website

Forum will be open to the public today. Reservations can be made through Open Table or by calling (857) 991-1831.
