"Talking About a Resolution...yeah, yeah, oh yeah"...Part II

Posted by P.T. Vineburgh on Sat, Dec 29, 2012

As promised yesterday let's look at another common New Year's Resolution and see what Boston has to offer those who wish to tackle: eating healthier....Check out a few of these options for both restaurants, CSAs and farmer's markets.....

Stillman's Farm is located in Lunenburg and New Braintree and they offer CSA programs in Brookline, Jamaica Plain and Somerville.

There are a variety of farmer's markets throughout the state and unbeknown to many of us, they still operate throughout the winter. Egleston in JP and Brookline on Harvard Ave. are the closest to the city.

As far as healthy restaurants go, check out:

UFood Grill

B Good

There are plenty of other options throughout the city and if eating better is on your list this year then the above places are a great place to start.

"Talking About a Resolution...yeah, yeah, oh yeah".

Well today marks Day 1 looking at some places in Boston to follow through on some common New Year's Resolutions...Let's start with the most common of 'em all: joining the gym....Ah, this one I make every year, only to progressively approach full Pillsbury Dough Boy status every year since the Millenium.....Here are some of Boston's best options:

Sports Club LA- Swanky and not cheap, but widely considered the best of the best.

Equinox- A great option with 2 downtown locations.

Boston Sports Clubs- Perhaps the most widely used by our city, with locations all over.

Boston Athletic Club- No frills and low cost. A solid option.

Healthworks- For women only. No worries about creeps like me trying to impress you by benching the bar....

FitCorp- A solid option with many corporate relationships and good classes.

Gold's Gym- The "Mecca" "where it all began"...'nuff said...PUNK!

Check out websites like Groupon, giltcity, and living social for some New Year's deals.....

With Winter now upon us and the forecast starting to show some now on the horizon take some time to wander around our wintry wonderland (yes, I am in the poetic xmas spirit). Especially before the plows come through and traffic sullies the splendor, take some time to view the Boston Common, Public Garden, Esplanade and historic neighborhoods like Back Bay and Beacon Hill.....

Go Tour Boston's Bully Boy Distillery....

Posted by P.T. Vineburgh on Sun, Dec 23, 2012

365 things to do in boston, bully boy distillery, roxbury, small batch craft cocktails

Bully Boy Distillery is Boston's only craft distillery and first since Prohibition. Located in Roxbury (35 Cedric St., close to the Andrew T Stop) they offer tours this very cool establishment. Founded by borthers Will and Dave Willis (who I coincidentally went to high school with) the distillery has been all the rage the past few years, as their product has started to gain some major traction. They offer an exceptionally smooth vodka (so I've been told) and perhaps their signatire product is the rare White Whiskey.
