It's also kind of fun to just across from the Hynes and just watch the costumes. People are VERY creative!! Which is GREAT!

The highly anticipated and expanded second annual Boston Book Festival will take place on Oct. 16, 2010, in various locations around Copley Square. The featured authors represent a wide array of programming, and include Pulitzer Prize winners, Nobel Laureates, children’s writers, and writers of fiction, non-fiction and poetry.

Everytime I am asked what I did the night before, and my response is I went to Church, I get that look, and than the question..."You went to Church...Church?" NO!!! I have found myself saying before they can ask that now, "the restuarant Church, not 'Church...church' ". To save the odd look on their face. Although I feel I am a bit due at "church, church" haha. (Located: 69 Kilmarnock St in Fenway)

Anyways, if you haven't been, I highly suggest hitting this place up. With great drinks named after the 7 Deadly Sins (vanity is REALLY REALLY good, how can it not be?) and the Four Horse Men of the Apocalypse (on bad days, I end up with death), you have a great selection to choose from. Their food is quite good, and reasonably priced. (I haven't been disappointed yet, and the menu will be changing in the next week or so to their winter menu). 

If you feel like getting down with your bad self, the other half of Church is a club with a 225 person capacity that has live music every night starting at 9pm, food from the restaurant served until 11pm, two pool tables, and four large flat screen televisions.

The French Cultural Center has partnered with several restaurants in Boston to bring you the greatest flavors that France has to offer.

The evening focuses on wood and metal through the eyes of

·          Jeff Smith , Fort Point sculptor (who also made the bar for the South End restaurant Beehive),

·          Skunk , Somerville-based sculptor who creates playful robots out of motor parts and runs the studio Skunkadelia, and founded the bicycling group Scul

·          Amy Bauman, greenGoat, runs a charity dedicated to building-related resource conservation

·          Roger Sherman, Environmental Restoration, using volcanic ash and the “Farrow System” for low-impact wood stripping.

 Flatbread took over the former Sacco’s Bowl Haven, using wood from a few of the bowling lanes to make tables and benches.  Flatbread believes in buying organic produce from local farmers and is offering the evening to greenGoat, a Somerville charity, as a fundraising event.  A portion of the evening’s pizza sales benefits greenGoat.

The Adams Corner Irish Heritage Festival will be held at 10am Sunday on Granite Avenue in historic Adams Center. The festival will feature the new and old customs of dance, msuic, set dancing, shopping, food and GAelic sports with activities for children. The entertainment lineup will include Erin's Melody, Curragh's Fancy, Joshua Tree, Devri, Tin Can Hooley, O'Sheanell and Clancy Legacy and much more.

Some of Boston’s best chefs, working side-by-side with citizen cooks, share their secrets for success while preparing a meal in the Museum’s picturesque waterfront pavilion. Each culinary couple will create a delicious, healthy meal that is planet-friendly and easy to make at home. Experts will also discuss the meals through the scientific lenses of nutrition and sustainability and offer tips for great cooking at home. Event is free but seating is limited.
