On Saturday, October 5th, the JDRF Boston Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held by the Hatch Shell at the Esplanade. The 5k walk starts at 10:30am.  The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) website allow visitors to register and donate online prior to the start of the event.

"The  JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes is a fun-filled charity walk held in locations all around the world. The Walk raises funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). Participants, walking alone or in teams, raise money for JDRF—the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research.

Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults—approximately 80 people per day—are diagnosed with T1D in the U.S."
