Performing the Boston premiere of Loan Sharking

“An authentic, serious new voice in dance…an exciting, seemingly improbable fusion of hip-hop, ballet and modern dance.” — Los Angeles Times

A thrilling, seamless blend of hip-hop, ballet and modern dance, RUBBERBANDance Group defies gravity with humor and humanity, as well as power and grace. Choreographer Victor Quijada, who co-directs the Montreal- based company with Anne Plamondon, combines the freshness and spontaneity of street dance (Quijada was a b-boy in Los Angeles before signing on with Twyla Tharp and later Les grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal) with the rigor of ballet and the inventiveness of contemporary dance.

Free pre-performance talk with dance critic Debra Cash 45 minutes prior to each performance.
