Join NEC on November 27 and 28th for their Boston Early Music Festival. (30 Gainsborough Street)
Mark Morris, move over: for its third annual Thanksgiving Weekend chamber-opera production, the Boston Early Music Festival is putting on Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, with Laura Pudwell as Dido, Douglas Williams as Aeneas, and Yulia Van Doren as Belinda, plus actual Baroque dancing. And the chance to pick up the brand new BEMF recording of one of the BEMF’s 2008 chamber operas, Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Actéon. (We haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but the packaging gets 10 out of 10.) Two performances this year instead of the previous one, so tickets may not last long at Jordan Hall.
Tickets: $125, $66, $49, $38, $19.
Times: Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm
