Where can you get some of the best food in New England - from barbeque to lobster rolls to grilled cheese - all in one place? At the Suffolk Downs Food Truck Festival as the rapidly growing food truck phenomenon continues to take off in New England.

Sponsored by MAGIC 106.7 FM, Boston's historic Thoroughbred racetrack hosts its first-ever Food Truck Festival in conjunction with a full afternoon of live racing and fun for all ages, including face painting and balloon artists.

The festival will feature food trucks offering a wide variety of options that are sure to satisfy most dietary cravings!

Admission is $5, with all proceeds to benefit local charities this upcoming holiday season. Parking is free.

Entrance to the festival will be at the north end of the Grandstand. At Suffolk Downs - Rt 1 A111 Waldemar Ave., East Boston. From 12pm-5pm.

A shuttle bus will run from the Suffolk Downs stop on the MBTA's Blue Line to the event entrance and back throughout the event.

 

 

Participating trucks thus far include:

Away Cafe - Since 2007 this diverse mobile kitchen has been serving the South Shore region, specializing in Thai, Italian, Cuban and American favorites.

Brandi Foods - The Brandi family offers up a selection of meals, sandwiches, soups and salads from their extensive full service menu.

Captain's Coffee Brewers - A cafe on wheels, serving up high quality cappuccino, lattes, coffee, pastries and the now famous Captain's Cold Brew.

Daddy's Fried Dough - Daddy's Fried Dough provides freshly made dough; fried golden brown topped with real butter, powdered sugar and cinnamon.

The FroYo Truck - Finally, a dessert that is exciting and healthy! The FroYo Truck's cool, swirly yogurt combinations may be complemented by Belgian organic waffles as well as fresh fruit.

Frozen Hoagies - A new food truck serving homemade Ice Cream sandwiches...pick your cookie, pick your flavor and enjoy!

Go Fish! - The first food truck by Brother Trucker boasts an array of New England seafood favorites plus American and International classics.

Grilled Cheese Nation - Boston's Original Grilled Cheese Truck serves up 8 of New England's most delicious, chef-inspired grilled cheese sandwiches with "shots" of hot tomato soup!

Lobsta Love - Precious lobster rolls and award-winning clam chowder - savor the sweet taste of summer all year long.

Mobile Home - A Boston-based food truck offering a selection of thoughtfully prepared dishes inspired by classic home cooking and comfort-style cuisine.

Redbones - Redbones Food Truck serves up its award winning real pit barbecue with all the fixin's plus sides and veggie options too!

Sweet Truck - Serving up old fashioned, uncomplicated baked treats from your childhood, including apple cider doughnuts and ginger molasses chewy cookies!

Trolley Dogs - Fabulous all-beef pearl hot dogs boiled and grilled with a variety of specialty toppings, plus golden fries and Italian ice.

Turkish Delight - Making their Boston debut, Turkish Delight by Meatballs &ETC is serving up healthy Mediterranean cuisine with menu items including Turkish Meatballs, Shish Kebabs and a variety of vegetarian options.
