Boston Parks Commissioner Antonia M. Pollak and The Skating Club of Boston President Joseph Blount will host this year’s official opening of the Boston Common Frog Pond on Thursday, November 18, at 5:30 p.m.
The evening’s Master of Ceremonies will be Dan Weinstein, 1998 and 2002 Olympic Speed Skater and National Short Track Speed Skating Champion who has served as an NBC Olympic Commentator for speed skating events. (To get more information click here).

Playing For Change comes to Symphony Hall! The group features street performers around the world as seen on "Stand By Me" on YouTube and the PBS Special seen on WGBH TV. In the band are Senegalese guitarist Ilon Ba, percussionist Mohammed Alidu (of Northern Ghana), vocalist Clarence Bekker (of Netherlands/Suriname), vocalist/harmonica player Grandpa Elliott (of New Orleans), vocalist/percussionist Mermans Kenkosenki (of DRC Congo), guitarist Jason Tamba (of Kinshasa, DRC Congo),vocalist Titi Tsira (Gugulethu, South Africa), Juan Carlos Portillo (of Zimbabwe), Reggie McBride (Detroit) & Peter Bunetta (Los Angeles).
