Zumba with Boston Zumba Divas in South End

Posted by Katie Beth Clark on Wed, Oct 03, 2012

365 things to do in boston zumba divasUp until December 31, 2012 head over to the BCYF Blackstone Community Center at 50 W Brookline Street in South End to be on your way to adopting a healthy lifestyle. Rumor has it that these Zumba Divas don't mess around, and are dedicated to preventing general obesity. So get off the couch chubs and head on over to South End. AND- no complaining about the expensive gym costs. These classes are only seven dollars per session but if you order ten classes it's only fifty bucks. It's easy cheesy! Here's the down low on what Zumba really is:

"Zumba Fitness® is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive."

Yes, I know you are excited now. Who doesn't like to dance? And to be honest, it's actually pretty funny to watch. Every time I go I feel like an idiot, but just stop for thirty seconds and watch the person  next to you. It is.. ummm... pretty entertaining, I must say. Here is the schedule!

Boston Brass strolling musicians There's nothing wrong with a little bit of music while enjoying your lunch in Downtown Boston- and if there is then you may want to avoid the Downtown Crossing Area during the month of October. But, if you are anything like me, you will be down to jam with the Boston Brass strolling musicians.

"The Downtown Boston BID brings a bit of brass to Downtown! A strolling quartet of two trumpets, a trombone, and tuba entertain lunchtime crowds with a selection of all-time favorites."

These guys will be rockin' the streets of Downtown Boston from noon to 2pm during the month of October 2012, entertaining many locals and tourists during lunch hour. You are sure to be impressed by their musical talent, and all for free. Make a lunch date downtown this October and enjoy these guys rock it like it's hot.

$1 Burgers on Mondays at the Avenue in Brighton

Posted by Katie Beth Clark on Sun, Sep 30, 2012

the avenue brighton maYes, you heard me loud and clear. Take the Boston College T Line, or take a quick drive down Commonwealth Avenue towards Brighton and you are in for quite the treat. The Avenue is one of Brighton's hot spots, with over 30 beers on draft and amazing burgers you can't go wrong. I took it upon myself to try it out last Monday and I was shockingly impressed. I was expecting one of those rip off burgers that you get when there is a special- ya know the kind that doesn't even have lettuce or tomatos and you could eat in one bite? But not here! The Avenue is not joking around when they make these one dollar burgers. Mine was so big and juicy that I could barely finish it. I will definitely be there tomorrow night so I better see you there! And yes, you can come say hey to me. I don't bite. (unless you dress up like a burger)

365 things to do in boston redhat

Ten Cents Wings!

Yes, I am very aware that your jaw is dropped to the floor right now, but it IS true. Not only are there ten cent wings, but in one of the most happening spots in downtown Boston. Only two blocks from the Park Street green line station on Mondays you will find people lined up out the door of RedHat. What are they doing you may ask... waiting on a table to get some cheap beer and ten cent wings! That's 50 wings for only five bucks! The great part about it is there is no limit or minimum. Order one wing or one hundred- no matter how many they are only ten cents each! Gnarly right? So just wing it this Monday at RedHat. Besides, everybody's doin' it. (ps.. get there by six and avoid the line)
