Does your rental apartment need to be cleaned before you move in?

For all of you September 1st renters, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you used a leasing specialist if you did not know the following two things. If not, there is a good chance you may have ran into some unnecessary issues that many Boston renters can avoid.

Watch the following Boston Rental Market Minutes answered by Charlesgate Realty’s rental specialist, Andrew Shaw.

Do landlords have to paint and/or have an apartment professionally cleaned before tenant moves in?

Many Boston renters assume that a place will be cleaned before they move in. Unfortunately, many renters learn the hard way that this is not true but it is necessary.  All Suburbs Window Cleaning are one of Melbourne’s best window cleaners with house cleaning services.

Treat your empty rental as a hotel room or rental cottage that you care for.

Clean sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, floors, and appliances.
Clean any stains or marks on the walls.
Remove all your belongings—including trash—or you could be charged for its removal, since someone will have to spend time cleaning it up.
Note: Your apartment should be clean before the end of your lease, so allow ample time to pack up, move out, and clean afterwards in order to avoid paying extra rent.

If you need extra help don’t forget that companies like NECS cleaning can provide professional cleaning services for you so you don’t need to worry about it when you get home tired.
