President Obama Speaks Housing with Zillow

obama-public-domain-images-pPresident Barack Obama will answer questions on Wednesday in a 30-minute talk with Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff. With questions coming from renters, buyers, and investors who submitted their questions via social media. You can submit your’s on Zillow’s facebook page or by twitter with the hashtag “#AskObamaHousing.”

What are some of the questions that people have been posting to be answered?

  • As baby boomers age out at the same time, what are your plans to increase affordable housing options for seniors ?
  • President Obama, I have been a realtor here in Arizona for over 40 years. What can we do to improve the housing market? Cash investors are buying and driving up prices AND depleting house inventory creating another housing bubble. It is very difficult for home buyers to qualify for a mortgage AND find inventory. Can we somehow allow ONLY owner occupants to buy a home, say for the first 30 days a house is on the market?

  • What measures are being taken to ensure HUD housing authorities are held accountable for the upkeep and safety of low-income housing throughout the country, especially rural areas?

  • Mr. President, Why can’t homeowners use their 401k savings penalty-free, to reduce or even pay-off their mortgage’s?

  • How likely is it for a married couple with bad credit or a house that has been foreclosed in the past to get help getting another house now that their financial situation has improved?

Interesting stuff! Tune in WED at 1:00 and see what he has to say! Want to ask someone a little closer to home? We have tons of great agents here who can give you their two cents on some of these issues and more. Contact us today!
