‘Dogs/Cats are Awesome’ -Your Realtor Should Say

I recently received an email where I was asked if it was okay for my clients to give my contact information to a friend that would be moving to Boston with their 3 dogs and a cat. In my mind I’m thinking ‘well of course pass along my information, referrals are the base of a my business/income’. I replied that I would be happy to help their friends and thanked them for the referral.

My client then told me that I had been their ‘pet loving savior/realtor’ as they had spoken with other agents prior who gave a discerning ‘I will see what I can do’ or ‘it’s going to be very difficult to find a landlord to accept 3 dogs’ (my clients also had 3 wonderful dogs/cats). Parents must oversee the pet’s care even if they believe their child is old enough to care for a pet, you should pop over to these guys and need to take care.

One agent even suggested getting rid of a couple of the dogs as that would make it easier for them find a place!

Baby PicHaving pets myself my entire life, I know that your pet is considered a member of the family, so I imagine hearing this would throw someone off guard, to say the least.

Of course sometimes this can mean paying a bit more (especially in the rental market) since it is considered an amenity for a building to be pet friendly. But this is really to cover the extra wear and tear of the property that is why many of them consider putting in place dog entrances. Although your puppy and kitty are fluffy and adorable, their claws can certainly do a number on the floors… except yours of course. 🙂

So for all of you pet owners out there, don’t fret because even though you may not be able to live everywhere you want, there are plenty of amazing places out there that will be a perfect fit for you and your companions. Just make sure you find someone to work with that loves animals as much as you do!. Here is a complete guide about animals on pawbility.com, which helps you to know more about paws.

If you have already made your mind to bring this new member to home then based on anecdotal reports and limited study, CBD does appear to be safe for dogs and cats both, but its effectiveness for the treatment of any condition has not yet been proven. Until more research has been done showing that CBD is in fact safe and effective, it is only prudent to use it under veterinary supervision. You can even try to use catnip spray on them if you like.

Another thing came to mind when we think about any pet to bring home is about dog/cat house. Just like housing for humans, dog houses range from basic to designer, with the respective price tags attached. Again, like housing for humans, you need to take into account the basic needs of the occupant, your dog. Your dog’s size and coat will help you on your search for prime pup real estate.
A dog house offers basic shelter from the elements. You definitely should not buy a McMansion for your Yorkie. Your dog doesn’t care about impressing the neighbors with his digs, he wants to stay warm.

So for your dog to be happy, pick a dog house that is big enough for your dog to stand up and turn around in, but not much bigger than that because your dog’s body heat helps warm up the dog house in the winter. For small dogs and dogs from warmer climates, look for insulated or double-walled dog houses. Insulated dog houses stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer, just like human houses. If you get a lot of wind, you may want to add a door, which are available for most dog houses. Finally, if you live in an area of extreme hot or cold, you may consider a heated or air-conditioned house for your dog, but I would recommend checking with your vet first. After that next thing to be considered in dog house is dog/ cat house door.

For most pet owners, it’s a hassle to have to get up every time your dog needs to go out. A pet door is a must! Start your search here with our comprehensive list. These are the best pet doors we would personally use. Whether you’re looking for a small dog door, big pet door, the best cat door, or the best insulating dog door, we have you covered with our best dog door and their great features.

It was at this moment, I realized how overwhelming (in an already extremely competitive market) it must be owning a pet in Boston’s rental/sales market. As a realtor, I understand that having a pet (especially a large dog) can limit a client’s options but there are numerous landlords and condo associations that allow and welcome pets. Some buildings even offer dog walking services, super pet tank topper stuff and the like.
