BostON The Horizon: Inside Troy Boston

BostON The Horizon: Inside Troy Boston

Located @ 275 Albany Street in Boston’s South End

The South End neighborhood has been one of Boston’s hottest neighborhoods for real estate this generation. Long celebrated for its beautiful Victorian architecture, excellent restaurant scene, and historic character, the South End has recently seen a plethora of new development reinvent that atmosphere for a contemporary audience. Enter Troy Boston.

With 19 floors of living area,  Troy Boston‘s tower will feature the highest residences in the South End. The new rental building was designed by local architecture firm ADD, inc., whose other recent projects 315 on A, 100 Pier 4, and the colorful MassArt Tree House dorm have brightened up Boston’s skyline. Troy Boston will feature an impressive 378 apartment units ranging from studio to 3-bedrooms, a rooftop terrace with BBQ pits, a swimming pool, a conference space, and an on site fitness studio.

Befitting the historic South End neighborhood, the name Troy Boston is actually a nod to the area’s past. Today this corner of the South End is home to the brand new Ink Block residential complex and a beautiful Whole Foods grocery store, and even the name Ink Block is a nod to that site’s Boston Herald predecessor. But even preceding the Boston Herald there was the New York Streets neighborhood featuring densely placed brownstones on Seneca, Oneida, Oswego, Genesee, Rochester, Troy, and Albany streets. The conscious efforts of the developer to pay homage to the past springs this building into the future while maintaining a piece of Boston’s history. Add to the mix convenient access to the South Bay Harbor Trail & Harbor Walk, nearby T access, and several great eateries like J.J. Foley’s, Myers + Chang, and Cinquecento, and you’ve got the makings of a well-rounded community to move to.
