Boston, MA — JUNE 2025 CHARLESGATE Appoints Jason Tilley as Vice President of Property Management

CHARLESGATE is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Tilley as Vice President of Property Management. Tilley brings over 15 years of experience in property management and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, implementing scalable systems, and enhancing resident experiences across both local and national platforms. His unique blend of operational rigor and emotional intelligence aligns seamlessly with CHARLESGATE’s mission to help people live and invest better.

Tilley’s property management career began in student housing. In 2014, he formally entered the multifamily space, earning recognition for financial performance, operational excellence, and cultivating strong workplace cultures across a range of operator types—from local developer-managers to institutional providers and REITs. 

Most recently, he advanced through key national leadership roles at Progress Residential®, one of the largest single-family rental platforms in the U.S., where he served as National Manager of Property Operations; National Director of Operations for a new fee management platform; and ultimately, Senior Director of Build-to-Rent (BTR). In these roles, Tilley focused on building scalable staffing models, customer experience strategy, and centralized operating plans to support nationwide growth.

As CHARLESGATE gears up for national expansion, Tilley will collaborate closely with President of Property Management Todd Mikelonis and Managing Partner Michael DiMella to refine internal systems, optimize team structures, and expand the firm’s innovative Property Operations Design (POD) model. His work will also include leveraging emerging technologies such as AI-powered maintenance tools to enhance operational efficiency. Tilley’s role will be pivotal in driving both performance and innovation, while keeping the firm’s core value, people over everything, at the forefront. 

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, he achieves long-term operational success by empowering team members to solve problems thoughtfully and think steps ahead. “Jason brings a rare combination of operational discipline and emotional intelligence that’s exactly what CHARLESGATE needs as we scale,” said Mikelonis. “His experience navigating both traditional and modern property management models gives him the insight to lead our teams with clarity, empathy, and purpose.”  

Outside of work, Tilley stays grounded by spending time with his spouse and dog, who are all settling in Boston after their recent move from Nashville. He’s also a certified professional pickleball coach and frequently competes in tournaments around the world.
